History:
HMR was established in 1965, the first employment agency to be licensed within
the South West. Established by Mr Mortimer Rubie, the company has remained a
family business throughout its operation. Anne Rubie, the current Managing
Director, maintains a continuous hands-on involvement in running the business.
During its 40+ years of trading, HMR has enjoyed considerable success. This
success has largely been attributed to the provision of a service focused on
meeting local needs, overseen by the strong presence of an owner-manager. The
company embodies a strong philosophy that all clients and all candidates have
genuinely different needs which can only be met through a "personalised"
service. We recognise that this type of service is best delivered through a
single, owner-managed, branch and will not compromised service quality through
multiple branch expansion.
About Us:
HMR supplies Commercial, Industrial, Construction, Structural, Environmental and Aviation
services to local, national and international employers through our
permanent and temporary staffing divisions.
Our branch is currently located in a prime site in Poole Town centre, providing
ease of access to candidates seeking work. In addition to a strong reputation
amongst candidates, we continuously use vacancy advertising in local and national newspapers, on our own website, through internet advertising on job portals and at relevant events to
promote our business to job seekers.
Industry Membership:
Mr Mortimer Rubie was a Fellow of the Institute of Employment Consultants
(FECI), the body responsible for promoting excellence amongst recruitment
consultants and a Member of the British Institute of Management. Anne Rubie is
also a Fellow of the Institute and the majority of her consultant team are also
members of the IEC and participate in regular internal and external courses to
keep abreast of good practice. Anne Rubie was also one of three finalists for
the Dorset Business Person of the Year Award 1995.
HMR is also a member of REC, the Recruitment and Employment Confederation, the
trade body responsible for ensuring good practice amongst employment agencies
within the UK. REC provides vital links to other quality consultancies within
the UK as well as the availability of high-level legal and operational advice.
Whilst our trading history is long in comparison with any other independent UK
agency, we stress the importance of adapting to changing needs, both from
candidates and employers. Mechanisms are in place to review the level of
service provided continuously and take action to ensure that needs are
continuously met.
