FAQs:

Please select a question from the following list:

How long has HMR been established and what areas of Recruitment do you cover?

HMR was founded over 40 years ago by Hazel and Mortimer Rubie and moved to Poole, Dorset, UK in 1970. It was the first employment agency to be licensed in the South West of the UK when licensing was required. HMR supplies two types of staff to employers - permanent and temporary.  We are able to provide personnel to Commercial, Industrial, Technical, Construction, Engineering and Aviation through our specialist staffing division, plus we supply trained and experienced auxiliary nurses to the NHS Trust, Private Hospitals, and Industry through HMR Medical and Nursing Services.

What are the advantages in using an established recruitment agency such as HMR?

HMR offers a personal and individual service to all its clients. We consider it paramount to make a precise match of candidate for each vacancy placed with us. HMR aims to form a close and long term relationship with all our clients. By opening strong communication channels and by being given the opportunity to anticipate needs, understand constraints and by sharing problems, we hope to build COMMITMENT, TRUST and MUTUAL SUPPORT with our clients.

What difference did attaining the IIP award make to HMR and its staff?

Whilst our trading history is long in comparison with many other UK agencies, we saw the importance in adapting to the changing needs of the recruitment industry both from the candidates' and employers' perspectives. The Investors in People award helped HMR focus on achieving the best from our own staff leading to an even higher level of customer satisfaction. All of HMR's staff are encouraged to attend courses run by the REC. Anne Rubie, Managing Director, is a Fellow of the REC.

Why should I use a member of REC?

HMR has been a member of the REC since it was founded. The REC is the trade body responsible for ensuring good practice amongst employment agencies within the UK. Our long standing relationship with the REC was one of the reasons why Christine Little, the then Chairman, came along to our 30th anniversary party and presented HMR with its IIP award.

Have the Directors of HMR attained any special achievements or accolades?

Mortimer Rubie was amongst the forefront in the battle to pursuade the Government of the middle 60's and 70's not to ratify the ILO conventions which would have outlawed Recruitment Agencies. He was also amongst the first creators of the IEC (which later merged with the FRES to become the REC) and was Governor of the Institute for 10 years, creating the basis for the present professional examination body as it is now. Anne Rubie was runner up in the Dorset Business Person of the Year Awards 1995.

What would some of HMR's clients say about the service they receive?

We deal with companies of all sizes including large Blue Chip Companies, one of whom has used our services for over 15 years and say 'we have always been very satisfied with their professional business manner and the efficient service and support they provide'.
